How did Ollion go about embracing AI?

We recognized early that user/chat-based AI alone would not meet our objectives. To facilitate direct system interactions with AI, we developed API integrations with providers such as OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, and Azure AI Search Services. Building on this foundation, we created toolkits that consolidate complex AI service interactions into single, easily consumable endpoints. This approach simplifies communication between our systems and AI models, fostering a seamless and automated ecosystem.

Ollion created a robust AI ecosystem within OlliSphere, our existing in-house platform that acts as a centralized hub for engineering, finance, and business operations. This integration allows Ollion to harness the true value of AI by aligning it with current data flows and workflows. The aim is to tackle automation challenges that can be solved using AI, ensuring that when a task is repeated, it's efficiently managed by this AI-powered layer.

Can you provide examples of this automation?

One of the standout applications of AI at Ollion is in the finance department, specifically in invoice processing. Traditionally, generating invoices was a laborious process, taking up to two weeks. By integrating AI, particularly OpenAI's LLMs, the process has been significantly expedited. PDFs of invoices are processed through AI, automatically extracting and reconciling data. This transformation has reduced time spent on monthly tasks from several hours to mere minutes, ensuring accuracy and freeing up human resources for more strategic tasks.

Ollion's AI prowess is also evident in our global support center (GSC). AI models crawl Confluence documents, creating an index from which AI can pull contextual information to assist with client inquiries. This innovation has slashed the need for support staff to manually sift through documents. Moreover, AI plays a crucial role in alert management, automatically validating alerts and presenting relevant information, thus minimizing noise and enhancing operational efficiency.

In addition to operational efficiencies, Ollion is exploring AI's potential in content creation and proposal management. The ability to automatically generate summaries, blog posts or even respond to RFPs based on historical data offers enormous potential. This functionality not only saves time but also ensures consistency and quality in documentation and communications.

As with any technology handling sensitive data, security remains a paramount concern. Ollion ensures data security by maintaining rigid controls on any data within our environment. Sensitive data is processed and stored solely within the boundaries of Ollion environments. Only necessary information is sent to external AI models; and then only under strict enterprise agreements to ensure data privacy. Any actions or requests for data are logged and continuously monitored for auditing purposes.
